Order of water filter material layers in domestic water filtration system
In the domestic water filtration system, the filter materials are arranged in layers, because each type of material has a different water filtration function. In addition, the quality of the input water source also affects the selection of suitable filter materials.
For tap water, pH raising beads should not be used because the pH concentration in tap water has reached the standard. Instead, water softening materials and activated carbon should be used to remove the chlorine odor.
For well water contaminated with iron alum, use Manganese. If the iron alum is heavier, use Birm USA granules with the following layer order:
- Layer 1: Gravel layer to filter water, prevent other filter materials from flowing into the water pipe.
- Layer 2: Activated carbon deodorizing material layer to filter water.
- Layer 3: Quartz sand layer to filter impurities and dirt.
- Layer 4: Alum filter material layer, heavy metals such as manganese sand,…
- Layer 5: pH raising material layer (if water pH < 6.5).
